Description
"Over 1,000,000 rears have sat in these seats!" - Music Box Theater
Good Condition means the set has most hardware attached, fabric may have light staining/wear and tear, paint finish may have minor scratches, dents, and scrapes, and the metal legs may be missing up to one of the feet at the base.
Refurbished means that our Deconstruction Team has repaired this seat. Seat sets will include armrests on both sides and most, if not all, hardware. These pieces may still need some TLC to be usable in your home, but are the closest to original condition in our collection.
Condition Varies: You will not receive the item shown, it is for example purposes only. These seats have lived a rich life, and may be stained, bent, torn, or otherwise damaged.
Delivery Options: In store pickup and local delivery available. To schedule pickup or local delivery, please call the store once order is placed.
Can I pick out or request a specific seat to purchase? Unfortunately, due to the volume of material, we are not able to list the seats by row and seat number. Unless a specific item is purchased, the item will by selected, pulled, and fulfilled by Rebuilding Exchange staff. The images of the seats are a sample of the inventory available and their current condition.
Return Policy: Due to the nature, age, and condition of these materials, we are unable to accept returns or offer exchanges for the vintage Music Box Theater seating sets or hardware products.

Opened in 1929 and located in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood, the Music Box Theatre will temporarily close their 700-seat main auditorium next month for updates, including new carpeting, aisle lighting, and most notably, new seats.
Rebuilding Exchange is excited to announce a special deconstruction partnership to salvage the decades-old vintage seats and make them available for purchase to the public. This initiative aims to preserve a piece of local history while providing valuable on-the-job training to individuals in our Workforce Training Program. Their smaller theater will remain open during this time.
Once salvaged, the seats will be sold through our two material reuse stores, allowing their legacy to live on and to be cherished by fans of the Music Box Theatre for generations to come.
While these upgrades aim to modernize the theater, the charm that has captivated audiences for nearly a century will remain intact, and the upgraded seats will be the same style as the seats being removed. This project combines our missions of material diversion, community empowerment, and historical preservation, and we are grateful for the opportunity to partner on this renovation.
